Position Overview
The Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of IRA Financials' financial operations. This role owns financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, audit readiness, billing oversight, and fiduciary cash controls across the organization. The Controller is expected to operate at a high-level, strategic, and supervisory capacity, ensuring strong systems, clean processes, and accountability across the finance team.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and deliver accurate, timely financial statements.
Maintain GAAP-compliant reporting and documentation standards.
Develop and maintain an 8-day close cycle.
Provide clear financial reporting and insights to executive leadership.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting process across the organization, working with department leaders as needed.
Monitor budget-to-actual performance and prepare variance analysis.
Support forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic planning.
Ensure budget assumptions are documented and aligned with company objectives.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
Design and maintain internal control frameworks.
Ensure segregation of duties and access controls.
Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations.
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Audit, Compliance & Regulatory Support
Serve as primary contact for external audits and examinations.
Maintain audit-ready documentation year-round.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Billing, AR & Cash Oversight
Oversee accurate and timely client billing processes.
Monitor AR aging and support collections strategies.
Ensure daily reconciliation of fiduciary and omnibus cash accounts.
Own escalation and resolution of material discrepancies.
Systems Ownership
Own finance-related configuration and controls for NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp, and TNET.
Ensure consistent and effective system usage across the organization.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop the finance team with clear performance expectations.
Delegate transactional work appropriately.
Establish performance metrics and accountability.
Foster a culture of integrity, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with leadership responsibility.
Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certificate Management Accountant) is a plus.
Experience in NetSuite is preferred.
Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
Experience in financial services or regulated environments preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve processes.
