Job Overview

The Entities and Rollover Business Startup (ROBS) Specialist will assist clients in leveraging their retirement funds to start or acquire a business through the ROBS process, while also managing compliance and regulatory matters related to Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and other retirement plans. This position involves providing expert advice on ROBS procedures, compliance requirements, and financial planning to ensure a smooth and successful business launch, as well as monitoring, interpreting, and applying regulatory standards to ensure all IRA-related activities adhere to both internal policies and external regulations.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Meet with clients to understand their business goals and financial needs. Provide detailed guidance on the ROBS process, including eligibility, compliance, and financial implications.

  • Assist clients through entity formation (typically C-corporation or S-corporation), including establishment of a qualified retirement plan and the rollover of funds from their existing retirement accounts.

  • Prepare and review necessary documentation to facilitate the rollover and business startup process.

  • Ensure that all ROBS transactions comply with IRS regulations and Department of Labor guidelines.

  • File LLC(s) with the Secretary of State(s), obtain EIN numbers, and draft operating agreements.

  • Assist in setting up bank accounts associated with a client’s LLC or Solo 401(k) plan.

  • Provide guidance and support regarding ROBS plan lifecycle and process, IRA/LLC account setup, management, compliance assistance regarding prohibited transactions, required IRS forms, and other requests made by the client.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRA rules and regulations.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless experience for clients and support overall business objectives.

  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Previous experience in financial services, particularly in IRA administration or retirement accounts, preferred.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Previous experience with financial software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex financial structures in simple terms.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
